Russell Okung

Last time we looked at Ndamukong Suh, a possible second overall pick for the Detroit Lions. This time we will look at Russell Okung, the offensive tackle from Oklahoma State. Standing at 6'5 and 307 pounds Okung is the top offensive tackle in a deep draft class this year. Here is a scouting video of Okung when he played at George Bush High School.

Coming out of high school Okung was recruited to play at LSU, Oklahoma and Nebraska but decided to pancake defensive lineman at Oklahoma State University. However, coming out of high school, Okung was only a 3 star recruit and rated as the 33rd offensive tackle in the class of 2006. He was rated so poorly because he only weight 250 pounds, which is very undersized as an offensive tackle. Here are some highlights from Okung is college.

Nevertheless, Okung really hit the weight room and used a big frame and 36 inch arms to rocket up to the number one offensive tackle in the 2010 NFL draft and possibly the second overall pick for the Detroit Lions.
