Tebow to Jacksonville?
The Jacksonville Jaguars are in serious trouble. They had a 5-11 season where they had an average attendance of 49,651 in a stadium that seats 76,877 people. That's only 73.9 percent of the seats filled in Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, which was second worse in the NFL, only beating the Oakland Raiders. The Jaguars need to do something drastic so they are not moved to Los Angeles, where a new stadium is going to be erected. Many people think that drastic measure is drafting Florida quarterback Tim Tebow. Tebow is a hometown boy and having him come back to town would certainly revitalize a flatlining team. Much like Lebron James did with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA. However, with a lack of experience in a pro style offense and a very long throwing motion, Tim Tebow could do more harm than good to the Jaguars. Even a possible teammate, offensive tackle Uche Nwaneri, does not want the opportunity of protecting Tebow. Nwaneri posted a "scouting report" on Tebow on the Jaguars' official message board. "He cant throw. PERIOD. He cant read any coverage other than probably cover 2 or man cov. PERIOD (the only cov. in college lol). The QB wildcat WILL NOT WORK IN THIS LEAGUE. PERIOD," writes Nwaneri. The Jaguars have the 10th or 11th pick in the 2010, the number will be decided by a coin flip. Tebow was a reach at 10 or 11 but with his possible impact it would have made sense to take him there. Then the Senior Bowl happened. Tebow struggled all week to convert to a pro style offense specifically taking snaps from center in practice. During the game Tebow went 8-12 for 50 yards and rushed 4 times for a total of 4 yards, a game not consistent with the numbers you would expect from one of the greatest college players of all time. Tebow's poor showing at the Senior Bowl dropped his draft stock. His stock was dropped so much Al Davis would not even reach to take Tebow at number 10 or 11. A superhuman combine is the only thing that can allow Tebow to climb back into the first round, and it still might be a stretch. The second round looks like the landing spot of Tebow, only Jacksonville's second round pick is in the hands of the New England Patroits. So from the look of things, baring a trade, Tebow will not be wearing teal and black next season.
